Wired and Wrapped: Sculpture by Seungmo Park

December 20, 2014 - March 15, 2015

Seungmo Park is a contemporary Korean sculptor and a rising presence on the international art scene. His detailed wire sculptures-giant ephemeral portraits and landscape scenes created by cutting multiple layers of wire mesh to create his Maya series (“illusion” in Sanskrit) and meticulously wrapped cast objects and figurative forms-are mysterious, illusionary, and visionary. This exhibition is organized by the Dennos Museum Center, Traverse City, Michigan, in collaboration with the artist. Exhibition in Kalamazoo is made possible in part by the Joy Light Fund for East Asian Art Acquisitions and Exhibitions.
