What is Going On in This Picture?

September 10, 2022 - February 26, 2023

Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) is a skill that anyone can use to visually analyze artworks, stories, billboards, magazine pictures, and more. VTS uses three simple questions: What is going on in this picture? What do you see that makes you say that? What more can you find? When the power of these three questions combine, artworks come alive before your eyes. This exciting ongoing exhibition, which will change artworks throughout an extended period, will display works from the KIA’s permanent collection that tell a narrative of some kind. The story might be mysterious, joyful, suspenseful, or a tale of everyday life. Create your own stories and interpretations as you consider “What is going on in this picture?”
