Elliott Erwitt: Dog Dogs

July 7, 2012 - September 23, 2012

This exhibition leaves little question about Elliott Erwitt’s love of man’s best friend. Erwitt proves that our close relationship with dogs is due to mutual resemblance and emotion. Erwitt sees the dignity of the ankle-high Chihuahua, the anxiety of the homeless hound, and the smugness of the adored dachshund. In his vast range of sentiment, and in his easygoing but precise mastery of the abstract elements of composition, Elliott Erwitt is an acute observer of the canine world. All photographs copyright Elliott Erwitt and Magnum Photos. This exhibition is organized by art2art Circulating Exhibitions.
