A Legacy for Kalamazoo: Works Acquired through the Elisabeth Claire Lahti Fund, 1998 – 2012

September 29, 2012 - January 20, 2013

To enrich the lives and experiences of area residents and visitors, the KIA actively collects works by nationally renowned artists. In 1998, through the generosity of an individual donor, the Elisabeth Claire Lahti Fund was established. Since then, the fund has supported the purchase of sixty works of art-paintings, sculpture, ceramics, prints, drawings, and photographs-that have enhanced the quality and breadth of the KIA’s collection. Some of these works, by artists such as Mary Cassatt, Jim Dine, Helen Frankenthaler, and Jasper Johns, have been brought together for this exhibition. Look for additional works purchased in honor of Elisabeth Lahti, identified by special labels, in other galleries throughout the museum.
