Richard Aardsma finds inspiration for his photomontages in the evolution of the photographic still life in modern and postmodern art. Thought-provoking compositions such as Still Life with Camera convey narrative meaning through the juxtaposition of elements. Aardsma seeks to create images that combine traditional aesthetics and conceptual art.
Olivia Stier is a multimedia artist whose work explores grief, memory, and the spaces where the two intersect. Her work in portraiture offers an intimate look into the feelings of isolation, loneliness, and detachment that come from grieving. Stier’s print An Offering was selected for this year’s Southwest Michigan Printmakers’ Excellence in Printmaking Award.
