Shop Local Art All Day at the KIA

Artists are taking over the KIA! The Kalamazoo Institute of Arts is showcasing activities outside the South Street entrance, welcoming 10 artists for a one-time Art Market on Friday, August 6 from 11:30am – 8:00pm. Each artist booth will feature their work on display for purchase.

In conjunction with popular Friday Downtown events like Lunchtime Live and ArtHop, guests can find work in a variety of mediums that you would find at the KIA’s Arts Fair like Fiber/Leather, 2-D Media, and Jewelry.

To continue our Art Market festivities we will kick off ArtHop at 5pm, with free gallery admission for everyone! You can purchase yummy treats from Freddy’s Food Hut and Bomba’s BBQ food trucks and relax in our courtyard with our Beer Garden and soda station.

Interested in taking a class at the Kirk Newman Art School? Stop by and chat with the instructors during the live demos! From 11:30am – 1:30pm meet our fiber and printmaking departments and then our sculpture and ceramics faculty will take over from 5:00 – 7:30pm. For more details visit our Facebook page.
