The KIA is dedicated to supporting educators of all kinds. We welcome questions and engagement from public and private school teachers, homeschooling families, community educators, and college faculty.
High School Area Show
This juried show is open to 9th-12th grade students residing in Allegan, Barry, Berrien, Branch, Calhoun, Cass, Kalamazoo, St. Joseph, and Van Buren counties. This is a great way for high school students to learn about submitting their work to a juried art show. Prizes and scholarships will be awarded at the opening reception.

Fine Art Library
The Mary and Edwin Meader Fine Art Library is a well-stocked destination for bibliophiles, art enthusiasts, and casual readers. It offers art-related literature, non-fiction, and periodicals that cover a broad range of topics, from architecture and antiques to ceramics and photography. All are invited to our monthly free book discussions. Members of the KIA enjoy borrowing privileges.
Museum Tours
Changing exhibitions and collection galleries offer opportunities for closer looking on guided tours led by highly trained volunteer docents. We welcome groups of 10 or more by appointment. Special tours are available for student groups. All ages are welcome. The KIA is an accessible facility, and wheelchairs are available upon request.
High School Portfolio Day
This event is open to high school juniors and seniors. Admissions counselors from college art programs throughout the Midwest visit each October to meet with students to review their portfolios and offer admissions advice. This event occurs during the school day. Teachers are encouraged, but not required to attend.
