Fine Art Library

The Mary and Edwin Meader Fine Art Library is a well-stocked destination for bibliophiles, art enthusiasts, and casual readers. It offers art-related literature, non-fiction, and periodicals that cover a broad range of topics, from architecture and antiques to ceramics and photography. All are invited to our monthly free book discussions. Members of the KIA enjoy borrowing privileges.

Young Artists of Kalamazoo County Exhibition

This annual show fills two galleries from floor to ceiling with colorful and inspiring artwork from Kalamazoo County elementary and middle school students. Artworks are chosen by the students’ teachers and displayed at the KIA each spring.

Museum Tours

Changing exhibitions and collection galleries offer opportunities for closer looking on guided tours led by highly trained volunteer docents. We welcome groups of 10 or more by appointment. Special tours are available for student groups. All ages are welcome. The KIA is an accessible facility, and wheelchairs are available upon request.

Kirk Newman Art School

The Kirk Newman Art School provides year-round art classes for youth and adults, covering a variety of skills such as drawing, printmaking, ceramics, and photography. Children can also enjoy spring break and summer camps. Scholarships are available for eligible students.
