South Street Print Fest: The KIA’s Steamroller Printmaking Event

September 28 @ 9:00 am - 6:00 pm

This first-ever event for the KIA celebrates the art of printmaking and welcomes the community to witness how a large steamroller can be used as a printing press to produce vibrant, large-scale prints from relief carvings.

During the event, Kirk Newman Art School faculty and students will be printing new works in the KIA’s South Street parking lot and will be assisting community printmakers throughout the day. Community printmakers who would like to participate should plan to bring their own carved blocks (must be three feet wide and between two and six feet long). A small fee of $25 for community printmakers reserves your printmaking timeslot and includes the cost of printing inks, fabric, and faculty and staff support to produce your piece.

Timeslots can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
