The Garden of Courage and Love is an ongoing artist project by JooYoung Choi where participants create flowers representing people who have shown them unconditional love. These flowers will be added to a growing garden that has been exhibited in multiple installations. Participants will create two larger flowers—one to take home and one to donate to the garden—and three small practice flowers under the guidance of Choi.
By the end of the workshop, participants will have created three practice flowers (they can keep or donate the practice flowers) and two larger flowers—one to keep and one to donate. These meaningful creations will join the Garden of Courage and Love, reflecting each participant’s creativity and honoring the people they cherish.
Participants must be 9 years old or older. Caregivers must be 18 years old or older and must stay with their children at all times. Adults will need to assist their children during the workshop with staple guns, glue guns, sharp scissors, and other tools.
The workshop is limited to 20 people. Cost: $15 per adult (18+ years old) and $10 per student (9-17 years old).
Preregistration is encouraged. Find out why.
In the event that a program is modified, postponed, or cancelled, we reach out via email to all who have preregistered. If a significant change is made on short notice, your preregistration helps to ensure that you get the word from us in the most timely manner possible.
Registering for programs in advance also helps our staff to assess set-up needs beforehand, reducing the need for last-minute adjustments to numbers of chairs, tables, etc. Further, it streamlines the check-in process when you arrive and allows us to keep you in the loop about other upcoming programs that might be of interest!
