Book Discussion: Old in Art School

July 16 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

by Nell Painter

Celebrated historian Dr. Nell Painter shares her story of returning to art school at the age of 64. Painter illustrates her unique perspective by offering insights on the intersection of art and sexism, ageism, and racism throughout her personal journey to earning a BFA and MFA. This memoir will appeal to anyone who has ever been interested in taking an art class or pursuing something new at any age.

Please note that this event will not be livestreamed or posted on YouTube.
All book discussions are free, open to the public, and take place in-person at the Meader Fine Arts Library. Participants do not need to have read the book, but it will help facilitate the overall discussion. Preregistration is encouraged.
Preregistration is encouraged. Find out why.

In the event that a program is modified, postponed, or cancelled, we reach out via email to all who have preregistered. If a significant change is made on short notice, your preregistration helps to ensure that you get the word from us in the most timely manner possible.

Registering for programs in advance also helps our staff to assess set-up needs beforehand, reducing the need for last-minute adjustments to numbers of chairs, tables, etc. Further, it streamlines the check-in process when you arrive and allows us to keep you in the loop about other upcoming programs that might be of interest!
