Learn more about C. C. Wang: Lines of Abstraction from exhibition curators Wen-shing Chou and Daniel Greenberg! Drawing inspiration from both East and West, C. C. Wang sought to preserve and reinvigorate the practice of classical Chinese ink painting by marrying long-established methods with innovative new approaches. During this talk, Chou and Greenberg will discuss the significance of Wang’s artistic legacy, as well as their own process for developing this exhibition through a two-semester curatorial seminar at Hunter College.
Wen-shing Chou is an Associate Professor of Art History at Hunter College and the City University of New York’s Graduate Center. Specializing in the art of China and Inner Asia, she is the author of Mount Wutai: Visions of a Sacred Buddhist Mountain. Daniel Greenberg is an Assistant Professor of Chinese Art History at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. He specializes in artistic and cultural exchange at the eighteenth-century Qing court.
