During this fun-filled Community Day, guests of all ages are invited to come to the KIA to move and to play, to imagine and to create. Following a special Art Detectives led by a teaching artist from Wellspring Dance Academy, guests of all ages are invited to gather for games of all sorts — from board games and puzzles to activities that will get you exploring our galleries! Drop in and play anytime from 11 am to 3 pm, and enjoy free gallery admission while you’re here.
From 2-3 pm, join Kalamazoo’s RADFest, hosted by Wellspring/Cori Terry and Dancers, for a Community Dance and Music Improv Jam! This event welcomes all individuals interested in art, music, dance, and collaboration. Whether you consider yourself a dancer or not, explore movement through structured improvisation, accompanied by live music. Or simply sit back and observe, enjoying the collaborative magic of music and dance! Movement facilitation will be provided by artists Allyson Lowis and Amy Wilson, with live music by The Druid Drummer.
