The KIA’s centennial exhibition Legendary Voices: Art for the Next Century features idiomatic and often unexpected pairings and groups of works from our permanent collection. Displayed in conversation with one another, these works have the potential to spark new interpretations and to reveal new meanings to the viewer. In celebration of the KIA’s centennial, the exhibition puts particular emphasis on works created by both locally and internationally known artists over the last 100 years. During this ArtBreak talk, learn more about Legendary Voices with the exhibition’s curatorial team. Director of Curatorial Affairs Rehema Barber, Associate Curator of Collections and Exhibitions Katherine Ransbottom, and Postdoctoral Fellow James Denison will discuss the exhibition’s guiding themes as well as select works from the show.
