ARTbreak: artWorks Makes Art Work

MRC artWorks is a working gallery and studio for adults living with disabilities. Focusing on strengths and abilities while developing job skills, artists create bright, encouraging pieces that follow the artist’s unique style and highlight what they can do and how they can inspire the greater community. Amy Thill is the unit manager of MRC artWorks and has been active in this role since 2017. Prior to that, she was an early childhood consultant through the local Child Care Resources Center focusing on encouraging developmentally appropriate best practices for young children. With a formal education in Psychology and Fine Arts, her passion for art, encouraging others to maximize their potential and helping others to focus on “I can” statements and developing a high level of self-efficacy. MRC artWorks combined her education, strengths, and passions into a wonderful outlet that supports adults with disabilities focusing on their strengths and abilities while exercising creative outlets. Additionally, Amy creates art inspired by nature and finds herself often in the woods. She is the mother of two boys who keep her busy and spends time loving on her rescue-dog Duffy.
