An Evening with Wu Jian’an

November 9 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

During this special evening program, Beijing-based artist Wu Jian’an will visit the KIA to discuss A Bridge Between Two Worlds, his first major solo exhibition in the United States. Known for the intricate and arresting works that demonstrate his mastery of cut paper and other media, Wu has produced a truly remarkable artistic oeuvre that brings together seemingly contradictory methods and themes in surprising new ways. Join us to hear insights on his creative and deeply thoughtful artistic process, the representative works highlighted in this striking new exhibition, and his larger body of work.

Wu Jian’an is a professor and master instructor in the School of Experimental Art at Beijing’s Central Academy of Fine Arts, a researcher at Prince Kung’s Palace Museum, and a member of the Academic Committee of the Beijing Zoo. His works have been widely exhibited across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
