A Daylong Celebration of Clearly Indigenous
On August 10, the KIA hosted an event celebrating the exhibition Clearly Indigenous: Native Visions Reimagined in Glass. Special guests included curator Dr. Letitia Chambers as well as glass artists Dan Friday and Carol Lujan, whose works were included in the exhibition. The morning session included a keynote address, gallery walkthrough, artist talks, and a panel discussion.
In the afternoon, Glass Art Kalamazoo hosted the community for a live demonstration by Dan Friday and Carol Lujan, as well as a hands-on fused glass project.
