Applications for the 2024 West Michigan Area Show close on March 3, 2024. Local artists from 14 West Michigan counties can now submit their art for a chance to be juried into the 2024 West Michigan Area Show. More than $6,000 will be awarded and entries can range from paintings, prints, and photos to mosaics, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture, and mixed-media works. The 2024 West Michigan Area Show will be on view from May 3 to August 25, 2024.
This year’s juror will be gallerist Jessica Silverman. Jessica Silverman is an ambitious, innovative, and internationally renowned gallery that builds artists’ careers and supports art buyers keen on establishing noteworthy collections. The eponymous gallery was founded in 2008 after Silverman had completed an MA in Curatorial Practice at the California College of the Arts, after a BFA from Otis College. The gallery represents artists who make museum-worthy art at all stages of their careers. Works by the gallery’s artists have been acquired by museums such as the Tate (London), Reina Sofia (Madrid), MoMA (New York), the Whitney Museum of American Arti, MCA Chicago, Art Institute of Chicago, and many others.
The 2024 West Michigan Area Show will be open from Friday, May 3 through Sunday, August 25, 2024.
